Security
Your account should feel secure.
Abiora is built with security in mind. We use appropriate technical controls to help protect your account, your information and access to Abiora services.
Account protection
Abiora uses authentication and access controls to help prevent unauthorized access to protected account features. Most of Abiora — comparison, airtime information, Life Hub and browsing African Near Me — works without an account. An account is only required for features such as creating and managing your own listings.
Data protection
Abiora applies appropriate technical safeguards to protect information handled by the platform. Traffic between your device and Abiora is served over HTTPS, and we aim to collect only the information a feature actually needs.
Access control
Protected features require appropriate authorization. Access rules are enforced on the server, so you can only reach the information and actions your account is authorized to use.
Your listings and uploads
If you publish a listing on African Near Me, it stays linked to your account. You can view and manage your own listings from your account area, and photos you upload are stored in a private bucket and served through short-lived links rather than open public URLs.
Location privacy
African Near Me and Get Around can use your device location, and only after you allow it in your browser. Your position is used in the moment to run the search or find nearby stops; Abiora does not save your device location to your profile. You can always type a city instead of sharing your location.
What Abiora does today
Abiora currently offers comparison, airtime information, Life Hub, African Near Me and Help. Abiora is not a bank, does not hold customer funds and does not offer a wallet, savings or withdrawal service.
Report something
If you notice anything suspicious on your account or in a listing, email support@getabiora.com and we will look into it.
